2020 – That’s a Wrap! This has been one of the busiest years that we have ever experienced. This year brought many wonderful changes to the Credit Union. Let’s take a look back on all that happened here this year.
Scholarships, Awards and Prizes
Just as we do every year, we awarded eight scholarships to our high school seniors. Five of the eight scholarships came directly from the Credit Union for a total of $7,500! The Annual Mr. Hamilton S. White Award was awarded to Syracuse Firefighter Paul Lucason. Contests were held on social media, gave away items such as flowers, gift cards, and cash. We also gave gas cards with every new loan and home depot gift cards with every new home equity loan. We also added some new services. Not only did we already participate in Apple Pay, but we also started offering Samsung, Google, and Fitbit Pay!
New Member Groups and Staff
This year we welcomed the Onondaga County Deputy Sheriff’s Benevolent Association to our membership group. We are very happy to have them! We had Meghan, join us just this month as a new loan officer. Please join us in welcoming Meghan. We also welcomed our new CEO, Andrea M. Thune. Andrea joined our team this August and we are thrilled to have her as part of the Credit Union family.
Building Renovation
In addition to all of these changes, we are still handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Our lobby has been closed since mid-March. We continue to work with members remotely, through the two drive-thru lanes and with curbside service. Perhaps our largest change this year was our renovation. Not only is our building beautiful, but it includes some much-needed updates to our HVAC system, bathrooms, and added ADA compliant entrance. This renovation also brings more offices, a brand-new coin machine, and a second drive-thru lane for members to use. We are hopeful to get our lobby doors open again in the near future and share our newly renovated building with our members. We are excited to see what 2021 brings and that’s a “wrap” on 2020!
